Premier Energies TOPCon panels (600–630 W) for Kerala
Key takeaways
  • The Premier Energies 132-cell TOPCon panel delivers 600 to 630 W from a single panel, with up to 23.32% efficiency, so a 3 kW home system needs just five panels.
  • It is a bifacial dual-glass panel with N-type cells, a −0.29% per °C temperature coefficient and only 1% degradation in the first year.
  • The datasheet lists salt-mist (IEC 61701), PID, ammonia and sand-and-dust certifications, useful for coastal Kerala homes.
  • Premier Energies makes cells and panels in India and was named a Kiwa PVEL 2025 Top Performer. Jasper Solar installs it on homes and businesses across Kerala.

Premier Energies is a Hyderabad-based manufacturer of solar cells and panels with decades in the industry. Its G12R TOPCon panel packs more power into each panel than most rooftop panels on the market. This guide explains what the panel offers, what its datasheet means on a Kerala roof, and when it is the right choice.

What makes TOPCon different

TOPCon (tunnel oxide passivated contact) cells add an ultra-thin oxide layer and a passivated contact to an N-type cell. In plain terms, less of the energy from sunlight is lost inside the cell. The result on the datasheet is higher efficiency, a smaller loss of power in heat and lower long-term degradation than a typical PERC panel.

  • More power from the same roof: at up to 23.32% efficiency, a 630 W panel makes more of a small Kerala terrace.
  • Better in heat: −0.29% per °C means the panel gives up a little less output on a hot afternoon than a −0.32% panel.
  • Slower ageing: 1% in year one and 0.4% after that, with 87.4% of rated power guaranteed at 30 years.

Built for Kerala's climate

The datasheet lists certifications that match the conditions Kerala roofs face:

CertificationWhy it matters in Kerala
IEC 61701 salt mistHomes near the coast, from Vizhinjam to Kollam
IEC 62804 PIDHot, humid conditions that can cause power loss in weaker panels
IEC 62716 ammoniaPanels near cattle sheds or farm buildings
IEC 60068 sand and dustDusty roadside and construction areas
IEC 61215, IEC 61730, UL 61730Core reliability and safety testing
LID and LETIDLimited early power loss from light exposure

The panel also carries ALMM approval and BIS registration, and Premier Energies was named a Top Performer in the Kiwa PVEL 2025 PV Module Reliability Scorecard.

How many Premier panels do you need?

SystemPanels (610 W)CapacityApprox. monthly units
3 kW53.05 kW~365
5 kW84.88 kW~585
10 kW169.76 kW~1,170

Fewer, larger panels mean fewer mounting points and less wiring. Each panel is 2.38 m long and 33.5 kg, so it needs a structure designed for its size and weight, and the layout has to fit your roof's dimensions. Monthly units use about 120 units per kW a month.

Bifacial gain on a terrace

With 80% bifaciality, the back of the panel collects light reflected from the roof. Premier's datasheet shows a 610 W panel reaching 671 W with 10% bifacial gain. On a rooftop, the real gain depends on how high the panels sit and how light the roof surface is. An elevated structure over a white or light grey terrace gives the best results.

TOPCon or mono PERC?

We install both TOPCon and proven mono PERC panels. Choose TOPCon when roof space is limited, or when you want the highest output per panel and the lowest degradation. Choose a well-made mono PERC panel when you have space and want a mature technology at excellent value. Compare them in our ReNew mono PERC panel guide.

Subsidy and DCR

For a PM Surya Ghar subsidy project, the panels must be DCR, made with Indian cells. Premier Energies offers DCR TOPCon panels, such as its NeoBlack range, and we confirm the DCR certificate for the exact model before installation. See our subsidy guide.

Common questions

Is a 630 W panel too big for a home roof?
Not usually. It is about 2.4 m by 1.1 m. On a typical Kerala terrace, five or eight of these panels fit well, but we check the layout in the 3D design before quoting.

Is TOPCon reliable?
TOPCon has been rolled out at very large scale in recent years and is now the most common technology in new Indian panels. This panel's certifications and Kiwa PVEL Top Performer rating show strong results in independent reliability testing.

Can I see the panel's output?
Yes, through the inverter's monitoring app. With panel-level electronics such as SolarEdge optimizers or TSUN microinverters, you can even see each panel separately.
