PM Surya Ghar subsidy in Kerala
Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the central government pays up to ₹78,000 of the cost of a home rooftop solar system straight into your bank account. As an authorized vendor, Jasper Solar handles the whole application for you.
How much subsidy you get
The subsidy is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW. Systems of 3 kW and above get the maximum of ₹78,000. Housing societies and RWAs get ₹18,000 per kW for common facilities such as lifts and corridor lighting.
Central financial assistance for residential rooftop solar, subject to current MNRE guidelines. We confirm the amount for your system when we quote.
Who is eligible
- A residential KSEB connection in your name. The subsidy is for homes; businesses are not covered.
- Enough shade-free roof. About 80 to 100 sq ft for each kW.
- No earlier rooftop solar subsidy from the central government on the same connection.
- An on-grid system with DCR panels, made with Indian cells, installed by a vendor registered with KSEB on the national portal.
How it works, step by step
- Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your KSEB consumer number and mobile number.
- Apply for rooftop solar and choose your vendor.
- Feasibility approval: KSEB checks that your connection can take the system.
- Installation by a vendor registered with KSEB on the portal.
- Net-meter application: the installation details go on the portal.
- Inspection and commissioning: KSEB fits the net meter and issues the commissioning certificate.
- Subsidy credited to your bank account after you submit your bank details.

Common questions
Can I get the subsidy on a hybrid system with batteries?
The subsidy applies to the grid-connected solar part of the system, under MNRE rules. Batteries are not covered. We show the split in your quote.
Do I pay the full price first?
Yes. You pay for the system, and the government credits the subsidy to your bank account after KSEB commissions it.
Can I combine the subsidy with ZeroCost™?
